The latest spreadsheet with Channel Islands Aviation Fuel Prices can be downloaded from The 2009 annual average price compared with 2008 decreased by 3.25% for Avgas in Jersey and Guernsey. This month the prices for 100LL have unfortunately gone up again, to a new record high, whilst the JET1A price has remained as in January.
Please note that since the new ownership of Fuel Supplies (CI) Ltd. it is no longer a subsidiary of Shell and Shell Carnets or cards are no longer accepted. Of course normal credit cards are. Please also note that the CI aviation fuel prices for visiting and locally based GA have never had any tax or duty content. However I am now able to confirm that, despite extensive negotiations, the new Jersey GST (Goods and Services Tax) of 3% which started on the 6th May 2008 does now apply to fuel uplifted by visiting or locally based GA aircraft in Jersey only, as well as to landing fees, handling charges, hangarage and maintenance for aircraft under three tonnes only. This GST discrimination is presently still under negotiation. Aviation fuel is still duty free. Please also note that UK duty, 34.573p, from 1st September, but not UK VAT for the full tank duty paid contents exported from the UK to the Channel Islands can be reclaimed as "drawback" from UK Customs on form HO60. This means that GA aircraft coming to or transiting the Channel Islands can come here with duty free fuel and refuel here with duty and tax free fuel. This form can be downloaded from the Jersey Aero Club Web site. Be advised that a check is being carried out to see that all locally based aircraft are still entitled to the 5% AOPA discount from Fuel Supplies (CI)Ltd. Please make sure that your and your co-owners AOPA membership subs are up to date. A letter has been sent to all paid up CI Region members from AOPA in London, enclosing a confirmation card to enclose with the form sent out by Fuel Supplies(CI)Ltd. to all their aviation fuel credit account customers. All AOPA discounts will cease unless the completed form has been returned to Fuel Supplies by the end of March. Visiting GA aircraft, paying on delivery, will continue to get their 5% AOPA discount on production of their current paid up membership card. This does not apply in Alderney. |
