AOPA CI Region News Flash I am delighted that all three airports of the Channel Islands will be the starting points of a unique aviation event with a worthy aviation charitable purpose. See www.reachfortheislands.org.uk for full details of the Flying Scholarship for the Disabled. The map showing all the airports which will be visited by the formation is available here and the itinerary, starting in Jersey at 04:30 am, will be as shown here. Julian Green, Colin Le Ray the Airport Directors of Jersey and Guernsey (covering also Alderney) airports and Fergus Woods the Director of Civil Aviation for the Channel Islands have been most helpful in making this "out of normal operating hours" event possible, aided in no small measure by the volunteers required to man this operation from the fire services, ATC, ground staff and JAC volunteers. Clearly the object of this 1500 mile flight is not only to increase awareness of the Flying Scholarships for the Disabled but also to raise funds for them. I believe the Channel Islands aviation community should make a joint contribution and I have therefore set up an account into which you can pay your contribution through your bank or transfer into it electronically. The details are C.G.Strasser FSD account, at Barclays Bank Jersey, sort code 204505, account number 20639397. The account will stay open for donations until the end of June when I will transfer the total on behalf of CI Aviators to the FSD. Thank you in anticipation of your generous support. Regards
