The latest spreadsheet with Channel Islands Aviation Fuel Prices can be downloaded from This month the price of Avgas and Jet A1 fuel has unfortunately gone up again. Avgas in Jersey and Guernsey up by 5p = 5.30%, Jet A1 up by 2p = 3.2% and Alderney Avgas by 5p = 5.1%
Please note that since the new ownership of Fuel Supplies (CI) Ltd it is no longer a subsidiary of Shell and Shell Carnets or cards are no longer accepted (although normal credit cards are). Please note that the CI prices for visiting and locally based GA have never had any tax or duty content. Please also note that UK duty, presently 33.34p as of 1 May 2009 (increasing to 34.57p from 1 Sep 2009), but not UK VAT for the full tank duty paid contents exported from the UK to the Channel Islands can be reclaimed as "drawback" from UK Customs on form HO60. This means that GA aircraft coming to or transiting the Channel Islands can come here with duty free fuel and refuel here with duty and tax free fuel. Details and a copy of the form for download are available at http://www.jerseyaeroclub.com/content/view/187/2/ Also I am able to confirm that, after negotiations, the new Jersey GST sales tax of 3% which started on the 6th May 2008 does not apply to fuel uplifted by visiting or locally based GA aircraft. However as from the 1st January 2009 GST of 3% does apply in Jersey only to landing fees, handling charges, hangarage and maintenance for aircraft under three tonnes only. This GST discrimination only brought to my attention recently is presently still under negotiation. Please remember that a 5% discount is available in Jersey and Guernsey to visiting GA aircraft on production of the pilots current AOPA membership card and to locally based participating AOPA members with a Fuel Supplies credit account. |
