The flying rates were last reviewed in August 2006 and have remained the same since then, however increasing costs since then have meant we have had to review them again and increase our rates. Since August 2006 we have seen a 20% increased in the cost of Avgas and a 7% increase in other costs. This translates into a 12% overall cost increase in the cost of a flying hour. However, as a result of increased efficiency and better utilisation of the aircraft we are please to say that we have managed to generally cap the increases to below 8% (before GST). The number of different training rates have been reduced and simplified, and instead of block hours for a PA28 it is now possible to deposit funds with the JAC to effectively get a credit (5% on £1,000 and 7.5% on £5000) which can be used on anything. This means that as opposed to only being able to get 'block discounts' with the PA28 you can now use this effective discount to fly any of our aircraft.
