I mentioned this in the Flyer Autumn 2007 issue but it can’t be emphasised enough. May I once again remind everyone with a licence issued since June 1999 that their licence has a validity period of five years. It needs to be renewed before the date stated in the licence and can be done by downloading the form from the CAA website, filling it in and sending it off with £65. I am happy to help if you have any problems. It has come to my attention that one or two people have unwittingly allowed their licence to expire, which carries the risk of flying while uninsured. This must not be confused with the SEP (Land) rating carried in the licence which has a two-year period of validity. Also please make sure you have your airside security pass with you. We will be checking! |
