Helping Wings is a Jersey charity born out of the Jersey Aero
Club's Helping Hands project. This project was first conceived in
2005 with the aim of sharing the excitement of flying in a light
aircraft with young Jersey people who would not otherwise get the
chance. This moved quickly into focusing our efforts on local
disadvantaged children. Since then, with the incredible support of
club members and particularly the pilots, over 150 children have
enjoyed a day out at the club. They've scrambled over airport fire
trucks, they've been amazed by magicians and they've flown around
their island in a light aircraft. To quote one parent"today was a
life changing experience..."
In 2011, our team decided that we should expand, with the
ultimate aim of providing flying training to the physically
disabled. Of course, the regular children's days will continue and
grow. In order to achieve these goals, Helping Hands has now
evolved into a Jersey charity with a new name - Helping Wings.
You can support Helping Wings by becoming a member. There is no
